Maca is a root vegetable belonging to the cabbage family, often referred to as Peruvian ginseng. It is a plant that grows in remote regions of Peru and high mountain altitudes, found at approximately 4,000–5,000 meters above sea level, and easily withstands harsh weather conditions—it is resistant to strong winds and high temperatures. Due to its valuable composition and high nutrient density, Peruvian ginseng is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. It is considered a superfood and, among other things, is easily used as an ingredient in dietary supplements.
